Bristol Palin: ‘I’m Not Heartbroken’ Over Levi – ‘It’s Sad To Watch’

Bristol Palin has had a rough few months, but she seems to be back on top of her game.

The young mom, and new “Dancing with the Stars” cast member, is thriving despite her breakup with her child’s father (Levi Johnston), followed by the couple’s reunion and subsequent engagement, and breakup once again.

“I’m not disappointed, not heartbroken,” Bristol told Jay Leno on “The Tonight Show” on Friday. “I tried to make it work for my son, it didn’t work, and I realized that we’re not meant to be.”

The teen said Levi, who is reportedly in talks to get his own reality show and, according to Bristol’s mom Sarah Palin, prefers to be called “Ricky Hollywood,” has completely changed since the days of their high school romance.

“The guy I fell in love with was a hard-working Alaskan man that didn’t want to wear straight-legged jeans and boots and be chased by Radar,” she said. “It’s a night and day difference and it’s sad to watch.”

When the late night host asked Bristol what she thought of Levi’s reported intent to run for Mayor of Wasilla, AK, the 19-year-old struggled to keep a straight face.

“I guess that’s the rumor,” she laughed. “He needs to move to Wasilla, to the city limits.”

“He needs to get his GED,” she continued, to roaring laughter from the audience.

The Canadian cutie — who is paired with two-time “Dancing” champ Mark Ballas on the hit ABC show — confessed she’s a bit anxious about “Dancing,” as she doesn’t have any prior ballroom experience. She admits, however, that she was an athlete in high school.

“I was a basketball player, soccer player,” Bristol said. “[I] never danced at dances or anything, so I’m nervous about that.”

“Did you go to your prom?” Jay asked.

“No, I was pregnant,” she laughed

“Oh, yeah, that could make it a bit awkward,” Jay continued.
