Bristol Palin’s ‘Awesome’ ‘Dancing’ Debut; Mom ‘Over-The-Moon Excited’

Bristol Palin and partner Mark Ballas scored a modest 18 points on their first dance on the Season 11 premier of “Dancing with the Stars,” but the daughter of Sarah Palin told Access Hollywood she had an amazing time – especially when she tore off her costume!

“It felt awesome! It felt great to rip it off and to be in this. It was great.” Bristol told Access’ Shaun Robinson of the conservative pantsuit she ripped off, revealing a short red dress.

Partner Mark was excited to see the young mom come out of her shell on the dance floor.

“She is shy, she is cute but today she was hot!” he said. “When she ripped off that dress I was like, ‘Oh, she is ready to throw it down!’ I saw the look in her eye like… I actually started laughing like, ‘Yes, get it Bristol.’”

The former Alaska governor and Bristol’s mom, Sarah (who didn’t make it to Los Angeles for her daughter’s debut), sent well-wishes from Alaska via Twitter.

“Over-the-moon excited and happy for Bristol! Cheering her on @ DWTS party in the Palin living room,” the political figure Tweeted on Monday night.

Bristol said her mom is expected to be cheering her on next week from the sidelines of the ballroom.

“She couldn’t make it, scheduling and timing didn’t work out,” She explained. “But, she’ll be here next week.”
