LOS ANGELES (March 29, 2007) — Britney Spears and Kevin Federline may be one step closer to divorce after reportedly reaching a settlement earlier tonight.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Spears and Federline turned up at a law office in Century City earlier today. According to they spent five hours at the locale with their respective lawyers and hashed out the end of their marriage.
Michael Sands, a rep for Federline’s attorney, released the following statement to Access Hollywood:
“After 5 hours and a 4 way session with Kevin Federline, his lawyer Mark Vincent and his partner Jim Simon along with Britney Spears, and her attorney Laura Wasser at Laura Wasser’s office.. The parties signed an agreement which was a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and child custody. At one point, Kevin went down for a smoke and Britney followed him outside. They had a 15 minute converstation. Then they went back upstairs,” the statement read.
Britney filed for divorce after two years of marriage in November citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She left Malibu rehab facility Promises after completing treatment there last week.
