Britney Released From Hospital; Hops Behind The Wheel

A week after being committed to the psychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center, Britney Spears has been released, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

Unlike her entrance to the hospital last week, Britney’s release from the UCLA Medical Center went apparently undetected, a source close to the situation told Access Hollywood.

However, shortly after she left the hospital, news helicopters followed Britney as she drove a black Mercedes through LA. Each time her car came to a stop, the cameras captured hordes of paparazzi swarming the car as she sat in the driver’s seat with her window down.

According to an eye witness, shortly after 3PM, Britney entered the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Around 12 PM, Britney left the hospital through a back entrance. She was accompanied by an LAPD escort and may have changed cars as many as three times, the source added.

Police escorted Britney to the freeway, but did not accompany her to her home off of Mulholland Drive.

It is unknown, the source said, who is with Britney or who is at her home.

Flanked by police and paramedics, Britney was committed last Thursday on what was supposed to be a 72-hour hold. However when her 72 hours were up on Sunday, her stay was extended for what was supposed to be an additional 14 days.

Now, just four days later, she has been released.

This past Sunday, hospital staff members cited a section in the state law that allows patients to be retained for medical treatment if they are found to be gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others,

A day after she was committed, a judge named Britney’s father, Jamie, as her co-conservator, allowing him to take control of her estate.

In attempting to remove their daughter from her current surroundings, Jamie, on Britney’s behalf, proceeded to ask for a temporary restraining order against Britney’s pal and supposed manager, Sam Lutfi.

Among the allegations claimed by Lynne were that Sam tried to keep Britney drugged and claimed if Jamie and Lynne were to try to interfere in his interaction with Britney, the consequences could be fatal.

“He told me that if he weren’t in the house to give Britney her medicine, she would kill herself,” Lynne claimed in her declaration. “Then he said to me, ‘If you try to get rid of me, she’ll be dead and I’ll p*** on her grave.”
