Britney’s First Born Turns 2, Stays In Headlines

Sean Preston, the little tyke who made Britney Spears a mom, turns 2, today.

He may not be able to read yet, or tie his own shoelaces, but Sean P. is already world famous.

In his two, tender years, Sean P. has made headlines, for the outings he often makes at his mother’s side.

Unfortunately for the toddler and his mother, many of the outings have been the source of controversy.

The first incident that helped make Sean Preston a household name, occurred on February 7, 2006. After leaving a Southern California establishment, Spears put Sean Preston on her lap instead of a car seat, as she drove away from a trail of photographers, while a bodyguard sat in the passenger seat.

Following the incident, Spears released a statement saying, “I instinctively took measures to get my baby and me out of harm’s way, but the paparazzi continued to stalk us.”

On April 1, 2006 Britney and Sean Preston made headlines again when the baby fell as his nanny was lifting him from a high chair. It was reported that something in the high chair snapped, causing the infant to slip from the nanny’s arms. Sean P. fell and bruised his head on the floor. Child Services were called following the incident but reportedly, no action was taken.

A month later, on May 12th, Sean P. made headlines again when Spears posted a message on her Website saying she was no longer studying Kabbalah.

“My baby is my religion,” she wrote.

On May 14, 2006, Spears was photographed driving her convertible Mini Cooper around Malibu, California, with Sean Preston in the back. He was in a front-facing car seat and the pictures showed the boy, sleeping in the seat. His exposure to the hot sun caused a wave of media outrage and his picture appeared on television and in magazines.

Four days later, on May 18, 2006, months before his first birthday, Spears was walking in New York City, carrying Sean P. in one arm. She had a drink in her other hand. Spears tripped while walking and then-bodyguard Daimon Shippen had to swoop in to help keep Spears from dropping the child.

In the last year, Sean P. has remained in the headlines, thanks to the divorce of his mom, Spears, and his dad, Kevin Federline. The couple reportedly agreed to split custody of the children 50/50, but a source close to Federline told Access Hollywood previously, that the dad is looking to increase his custody split to 70/30.
