Brittany Murphy’s Death Leaves Posthumous Roles Up In The Air

Brittany Murphy died on Sunday morning, but the “Clueless” star will likely live on at the movies.

The 32-year-old actress was in the midst of returning to film after taking time off over the last few years following her May 2007 marriage to Simon Monjack.

She released one film this year, “Across The Hall,” a thriller which hit theaters on December 4, and has more roles on the way – Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables,” which also stars Jason Statham and Jet Li, is due on August 20, 2010, and she wrapped production on another film, “Abandoned,” with Dean Cain and Mimi Rogers.

Another suspense film, “Something Wicked,” remains in production. Her most recent effort was yet another suspense project, “The Caller” – however, her rep previously stated to news outlets that she had “parted ways” with the production over “creative differences.” Other reports, including one from Perez Hilton, claimed Brittany had been fired from the Puerto Rican set of the film.

It is unknown how, or if, her shocking death will affect the release of these films. As previously reported on, Brittany was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday morning following a 911 call from her home.

Brittany was best known for her roles in “8 Mile,” “Clueless” and “Just Married.”
