Brooke Burke-Charvet Planning ‘Speedy Recovery’ Following Thyroid Cancer Surgery

Brooke Burke-Charvet seems to be staying strong as she prepares to undergo thyroid cancer surgery this week.

“I’m getting ready this week for my surgery and am planning on a speedy recovery,” Brooke wrote on her Facebook page to her more than 20,000 fans on Monday. “What a crazy time, but I am surrounded with love and support and that really makes a world of difference.”

The “Dancing with the Stars” co-host thanked her fans for the overflowing support and for keeping her spirits high through the rough times.

“Thank you for following me and for all your thoughts and prayers. I feel it, truly, and your energy outweighs my stress!” she added.

The mother of four first shared her diagnosis through a video on the website ModernMom.com in early November.

“I need to have thyroid surgery and a thyroidectomy, which means I’m going to have a nice big scar right here across my neck,” the 41-year-old said in the video blog at the time. “It’s taken me a couple of months to really wrap my head around this… Now I’m good. I’m ready to deal with it, and I’m going to be fine. I feel really, really strong. Doctors say this is a ‘good’ kind of cancer to have… My doctor did tell me this is a happily ever after ending kind of thing.”
