Bruno Mars Officially Announced As Super Bowl Halftime Show Star

It’s official — the NFL has found Super Bowl “Treasure” in Bruno Mars.

The Grammy-winning singer will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2014, the NFL announced on Sunday.

Super Bowl XLVIII will take place at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium in February. Jersey native Bruce Springsteen played at Super Bowl XLIII and NJ’s own Bon Jovi is going through a tumultuous time, due to the reported exit of Richie Sambora from the band’s current tour.

The Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year. More than 110.5 million U.S. viewers watched last year’s show, starring Beyonce.

The Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2014.
