Bryce Dallas Howard Pregnant

(August 8, 2006) — The apple of Ron Howard?s eye, Bryce Dallas Howard, and her actor-husband, Seth Gabel, are expecting their first child, the actress announced Thursday at the British premiere of her movie, ?Lady in the Water,? PEOPLE announced. “I can’t talk about the pregnancy too much,” Howard, 25, told PEOPLE, amid congratulations at the film opening. “I’m a little superstitious.”When asked about his co-star’s condition, ?Lady? leading man Paul Giamatti replied jokingly, “I had nothing to do with it!”Howard and Gabel wed in June. The couple has been together for five years, PEOPLE reported.Howard had her first roles in 1989’s “Parenthood” and 1995’s “Apollo 13” both directed by her actor-filmmaker father. Her breakout role was “The Village” in 2004, and she will next be seen in “Spider-Man 3.”Gabel has appeared on numerous TV shows, including “Nip/Tuck,” “The Closer” and “CSI,” PEOPLE reported.
