Cameron Mathison & Mel B Bounce Back On ‘Dancing’

They may have ended up in the bottom two last week, but “All My Children” star Cameron Mathison and Edyta Slwinska came bounding back on Monday’s episode of “Dancing with the Stars.”

“After last week, it was a huge disappointment,” Cameron told audiences about nearly being given the boot. “We just have to step it up.”

And they did. For the first “Dancing” episode where each couple had to do two different dances, Cameron & Edyta brought some fancy footwork to the floor.

Their first dance, a quick step to The Cure’s “Why Can’t I BeYou?” was met with a 24 out of 30 from the judges. The duo’s second dance however, one which closed out the show, set the floor on fire.

Jiving to “The Boy From New York City” netted them 27 points out of 30.

Co-host Samantha Harris probed Cameron about his promise to wear a thong if he makes it to the finals. While she conceded he was just joking last week, she asked if he had anything else planned if he does make it to the end.

“My mom watches this show Samantha. I can’t answer that,” Cameron replied with a smile.

It wasn’t just a good night for Cameron. A super sexy Scary Spice, Mel B, netted the only perfect score of the evening, dancing the Paso Doble to En Vogue’s “Free your Mind.”

A saucy Mel wore black hot pants and a floor length black coat for the dance, which left judge Len Goodman almost speechless.

“I don’t think I can pass a comment . . . You moved across the floor. It had the passion, the aggression,” he said stopping, and simply pointing to Mel and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

“My jaw was on the desk,” judge Bruno Tonioli screamed. “Top that!”

Following their performance, Maksim told the viewers the on screen partners put in their performance for Sabrina Bryan, the Cheetah Girl who got the boot last week.

“This dance is dedicated to our friend,” he said revealing a cheetah paw print on his bare chest.

Mel’s early dance of the night, a fox trot, scored 24 points.

The evening was a good one for Helio Castroneves and partner Julianne Hough too.

After tangoing to David Bowie’s “Jean Genie” to a score of 25 out of 30, they thrilled the crowd in the Latin round netting a 27 out of 30.

While Bruno said their dance fit in Helio’s “comfort zone,” as he is from Brazil, Len joked they shouldn’t have assumed he’d be good in the Latin dance, because of his heritage.

“Just because you come from Brazil doesn’t mean you’re going to be good at the samba, in the same way just because you come from Texas doesn’t mean you’re going to be a good president,” Len said as the audience reacted with a series of “oh’s.”
