Candy Spelling: Grandkids Are ‘The Best Gift Ever’

Just last July, Candy Spelling said she still hadn’t met one of daughter Tori Spelling’s children– but now, she’s happily settling into the role of grandmother.

“They’re the best gift ever,” she told People magazine of grandchildren Liam, 3, and Stella, almost 2.

Like any good grandmother, she makes sure family time is sweet.

“I love to take them out for ice cream,” she said, though she added she doesn’t always spoil them. “When they get cranky… I take them home!”

Candy, who rekindled her relationship with reality couple Tori and Dean McDermott late last year, added that it’s “nice” to be able to get the kids out of her daughter’s hair.

“It is nice when they can be with Grandma when [Tori and Dean] want their time,” she told the mag. “It gives them a break, and it builds [our] relationship. It’s great.”

Though the children may be barely out of babyhood, Candy said their personalities are already evident.

“Liam is much more quiet. If you tell him no, he knows that no is no,” she said. “Stella is a rebel … and she’s going to give Tori a little problem, I think!”
