Carrie Underwood Slams Haters After Sound Of Music Live!: You Need Jesus

Carrie Underwood has a message for her critics.

After starring in NBC’s “The Sound of Music Live!” as Maria on Thursday night, the country superstar took to Twitter on Friday to respond to negativity.

“Plain and simple: Mean people need Jesus,” she Tweeted. “They will be in my prayers tonight… 1 Peter 2:1-25”

The Bible verse cited by the 30-year-old star states one should rid themself of “deceit, hypocrisy, envy and slander.”

Though the live musical drew an impressive 18.5 million viewers, many were critical of Carrie’s acting, including original “Sound of Music” star Kym Karath (Gretl), who Tweeted, “Must admit some scenes are actually painful to watch… Love Carrie Underwood but this role is just not right for her. She is lovely her voice is beautiful but acting is wrong.”
