The Billboard Music Awards got a double dose of country star power on Sunday night when Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert took the stage together to debut their new duet, “Something Bad.”
How did the collaboration between the two superstars come about?
“[Miranda] sent an e-mail saying, ‘I found this song I think we’d be great on it,’” Carrie told Access Hollywood’s Liz Hernandez at the awards on Sunday. “Originally it wasn’t a duet – it was, but not for two girls.
“The writers kind of rewrote a few lines here and there and it was like, ‘Oh my gosh, yeah!’” she added.
The ladies only rehearsed for two days before the big night, but Carrie said each run-through felt stronger and stronger.
“Honestly, every time we do it gets better because I feel like we’re just like, ‘Ohh!’ because we’re not used to being with other people on stage,” she said. “But it’s gonna be rockin’.”
Now that the beloved country stars have made what is sure to be a hit together, would Carrie be up for an entire album with Miranda?
“That would be awesome. You never know,” she said. “Of course we both do so much on our own, but that would be really cool. Girl power!”
