Casting Call: Armie Hammer To Star Alongside Johnny Depp In ‘The Lone Ranger’

Johnny Depp has finally found his “Kemo Sabe.”

Armie Hammer – best known for his role as the Winklevoss twins in “The Social Network” – has been tapped to play the title character in the upcoming “Lone Ranger” reboot, according to Variety.

Hammer will join Depp, who was previously announced as the masked man’s famed sidekick, Tonto, in the Disney film.

Production is expected to kick off later this year, with a fall 2012 release targeted.

It’s the latest casting coup for the up-and-coming Hammer. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, he also landed the role as the charming prince in Relativity Media’s “Snow White” project, starring Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen and “The Blind Side” beauty Lily Collins as the fairest of them all.

He’ll also be locking lips with Leonardo DiCaprio in the upcoming J.Edgar Hoover biopic, starring Leo and directed by Clint Eastwood.
