Casting Call: Cory Monteith Hits ‘Monte Carlo’ With Selena Gomez; Ashley Greene Gets Her ‘Butter’ Fix

“Glee” star Cory Monteith trades in the choir room for a trip to “Monte Carlo.” “Twilight Saga” beauty Ashley Greene has a craving for “Butter.” Plus, has Jim Carrey’s “Phillip Morris” gone up in smoke – for good? It’s all in the latest edition of the AccessHollywood.com Casting Call…

Cory Monteith, Selena Gomez, Leighton Meester and Katie Cassidy, pack your bags – you’re all headed for “Monte Carlo.”

The fab young Hollywood foursome will star in the romantic comedy “Monte Carlo,” according to Variety.

The film focuses on a teen girl (Gomez) who travels to Paris with her best friend and soon-to-be-stepsister. When the girl is mistaken for an upscale British socialite, all three are whisked away on an international adventure – until a missing million-dollar necklace threatens to expose their true identities.

Monteith – who plays Finn on “Glee” – will play the lead love interest. Andie MacDowell has also joined the cast and Nicole Kidman will co-produce.

Kidman originally intended to take on a supporting role as well, but backed out due to reported schedule conflicts.

“Monte Carlo” is loosely based on the Jules Bass novel “Headhunters.”

Hopefully vampires don’t have an aversion to dairy products.

“Twilight Saga” beauty Ashley Greene has joined the cast of the dramedy “Butter,” starring Jennifer Garner, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Garner will play the wife of a butter carver, who has won first prize at the Iowa State Fair for 15 years. When he is asked to give up his title, his spotlight-seeking wife (Garner) seeks out a 12-year-old sculpting prodigy for an epic contest.

It appears Greene will step in as Garner and Ty Burrell’s rebellious on-screen daughter.

Greene – who plays Alice Cullen in “The Twilight Saga” – is currently shooting the thriller “The Apparition,” co-starring Sebastian Stan.

She will reprise her role as Alice for the third chapter in the “Twilight” series, “Eclipse,” which hits theaters June 30, 2010.

Jim Carrey’s dark comedy “I Love You Phillip Morris” has been back-burnered – this time, possibly for good.

The film, co-starring Ewan McGregor in the title role, focuses on a love affair between a con man (Carrey) and his cellmate (McGregor).

While it originally premiered to mixed reviews at Sundance 2009, “Phillip Morris” was originally slated to hit theaters on March 26. However, in February, Consolidated Pictures Group – the studio behind the project – announced it had been pushed back to April 30.

Now, according to the Los Angeles Times, a spokesperson for the film has announced the movie will no longer be released as planned – and no further release date has been set.

Carrey – who moviegoers haven’t seen on the big screen since the 2008 comedy “Yes Man,” although has lent his voice to “Dr. Suess’ Horton Hears A Who!” and Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” – has several other projects in development.

He’s attached to produce and star in the comedy “Sober Buddies,” as well as the comedy “Pierre Pierre” and as the Devil in the baseball drama “Damn Yankees,” co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

McGregor stars in the recently released thriller “The Ghost Writer” with Pierce Brosnan.
