Casting Call: Has ‘Rock Of Ages’ Film Found Its Leading Man? Who Is He?

The star-studded cast of the big screen adaptation of “Rock of Ages” has reportedly found its leading man, at least according to one outlet.

Relative unknown Diego Gonzalez Boneta has reportedly been cast in the role, according to New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

However, a rep for New Line Cinema, the studio behind the project, told Access Hollywood no offered has been made yet.

Boneta’s credits include playing the pop-singing Javier Luna on the CW’s “90210” (before the character was killed off in a limo crash), as well as the character Alex from ABC Family’s “Pretty Little Liars.”

This would mark his first feature film role.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Alec Baldwin, Julianne Hough and Mary J. Blige have also joined the cast of the Adam Shankman-directed film, based on the Broadway play.

Tom Cruise was the first star attached to the project – someone with whom he was ecstatic to work.

“I think we’re going to see him, every drop, the rock ‘n’ roll god! I’m very excited. He’s so committed to doing it. He’s pouring himself in this part in a way I’ve never had an actor do… it’s pretty intense,” Adam previously told Access Hollywood at The 24 Hour Hollywood Rush event in Los Angeles in February.

Production on the film is expected to begin in May.
