Casting Call: Ice Cube & Jennifer Aniston Score Perfect ‘10s’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 14, 2007) – Ice Cube scores a perfect “10.” Emma Roberts goes to the dogs. And Jennifer Aniston likes short shorts. It’s all in today’s Access Hollywood Casting Call…

Move over Bo Derek. Ice Cube is the next “10.” But luckily for fans, no red bikinis involved.

Ice Cube is in talks to produce and possibly star in the big screen adaptation of the graphic novel “10,” according to Variety.

The story revolves around a guy who gets what appears to be junk mail informing him he’s in a competition with nine others and that whoever gets out alive wins. He throws away the letter, but then a man toting an ax shows up at the door.

The rapper-turned-actor is also in the process of filming “First Sunday,” a crime caper about two petty crooks who try to rip off a church.

Rosario Dawson is joining Shia LaBeouf and Michelle Monaghan in the thriller “Eagle Eye,” reports Variety.

LaBeouf and Monaghan play characters who form an unlikely alliance after they’re framed as terrorists and become members of a cell that plans to carry out a political assassination.

Dawson plays a young government agent hot on their tail. Pic begins production this fall.

She was last seen in “Death Proof,” the Quentin Tarantino-directed segment of “Grindhouse.” Her other film credits include “Sin City,” “Clerks 2” and “Rent.”

“Nancy Drew” star Emma Roberts has signed on to join the live-action comedy “Hotel for Dogs,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Dogs” follows two orphaned teens who give shelter to dozens of stray dogs in an abandoned hotel.

Roberts, who also starred in “Aquamarine,” has recently signed on to reprise her “Nancy Drew” role for a sequel.

Jennifer Aniston will show off her directing skills with the romantic drama “Room 10,” which will debut at the Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films & Short Film Market, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“Room 10” stars Robin Wright Penn and Kris Kristofferson.

Also debuting their helming skills at the fest is Bryce Dallas Howard, who will show off “Orchids,” starring Alfred Molina and Katherine Waterston.

The film fest, now in its 13th year, will run at the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs through August 23-29.

Bernie Mac is joining John Travolta and Robin Williams in the comedy “Old Dogs,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The buddy comedy revolves around two best friends and business partners whose lives are turned upside down when they find themselves taking care of 7-year-old twins.

In the movie, Mac plays Johnny Lunchbox, the Elvis, Bono, and Beatles of children’s entertainment all wrapped up into one super-charismatic puppeteer.

Mac most recently appeared as a scene-stealing car dealer in “Transformers” as well as “Ocean’s Thirteen.”
