Casting Call: Jude Law & Forest Whitaker’s Deadly ‘Mambo’

Jude Law set to “Mambo” with Forest Whitaker. “Thunder” in the forecast for Owen Wilson and Nick Nolte. Plus, Adam Sandler steps up to the plate with Mitch Albom. It’s all in today’s Access Hollywood Casting Call?

Jude Law and Forest Whitaker have danced their way into the cast of “The Repossession Mambo,” per Variety.

Set in the near future, the thriller tracks the sale of artificial organs that can be bought on credit with one catch – if the buyer defaults on payment, it will result in a fatal repossession.

Filming is slated to begin this summer.

Fans can next catch Law opposite Michael Caine in “Sleuth,” a drama about an aging writer (Caine) who matches wits with the struggling actor (Law) who has stolen his wife’s heart.

Owen Wilson and Nick Nolte have signed on for “Tropic Thunder,” the new Ben Stiller-directed comedy, according to Variety.

The comedy follows a group of actors who go on location to shoot a war movie, only to find out their storyline is more real than once thought.

Wilson and Nolte join the previously announced Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., “SNL” star Bill Hader and more. In addition to directing, Stiller will also star in the film.

Shooting will begin this summer in Hawaii and Los Angeles.

It’s just the latest on-screen collaboration for Wilson and Stiller, whose other projects together include “Night at the Museum,” “Zoolander” and “Starsky and Hutch.”

Nolte recently completed work on the drama “The Mysteries of Pittsburgh,” alongside Sienna Miller, Mena Suvari and Peter Sarsgaard.

Mitch Albom, author of “Tuesdays With Morrie,” “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” and, most recently, “For One More Day,” wants to bring his next story to the big screen – and it looks like Adam Sandler will help him try to hit a home run.

Sandler’s Happy Madison production company, along with Columbia Pictures, are in talks to bring Albom’s feature film writing debut to the big screen, with Sandler as the star, reports Variety.

The as-of-yet-untitled project is a comedy with emotional elements set in the world of baseball.

Albom’s “Tuesdays With Morrie” & “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” have been turned into made-for-TV films, but have never been theater-bound.

Sandler stars in the summer comedy “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry,” alongside Kevin James. After that, he will next be seen in “You Don’t Mess With the Zohan,” which Sandler co-wrote with “Knocked Up” helmer Judd Apatow.
