It’s no trick – Katie Holmes is bringing her treats to a Halloween episode of “How I Met Your Mother.”
CBS confirmed to Access Hollywood that Katie has been cast as Slutty Pumpkin, a character that
Ted (Josh Radnor) met during the show’s first season at a Halloween party, but then lost touch with.
“Katie is a lovely and talented actress, which is why we’ve saved for her perhaps the most classily named character in our show’s history,” series co-creator Craig Thomas told New York Magazine’s Vulture blog, who first reported the casting news.
”[The role was] literally six seasons in the making,” Thomas said.
The former “Dawson’s Creek” star last appeared on a weekly TV series in 2008, when she guest starred on “Eli Stone.”
Katie will be seen next on the big screen with Adam Sandler in “Jack & Jill,” in theaters on November 11.
