Casting Call: Martin Sheen & Sally Field In Talks To Join ‘Spider-Man’ Cast

Hollywood icons Martin Sheen and Sally Field may soon be caught in Spidey’s web.

Sheen, 70, and Field, 64, are in talks to take on the roles of Uncle Ben and Aunt May, respectively, in the upcoming “Spider-Man” film, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The castings would follow a trend by producers to skew younger with each of the famed franchise roles, as both of the veteran actors are considerably younger than Cliff Robertson and Rosemary Harris, who played Peter Parker’s beloved relatives in the first “Spider-Man” film starring Tobey Maguire.

Sheen is 17 years Robertson’s junior, while Field is 19 years younger than Harris

As previously reported on, Andrew Garfield will step into the role of a teenage Peter Parker, while Emma Stone will tackle the role of Peter’s second most famous lady love, Gwen Stacy.

Rhys Ifans has been cast as the film’s villain.

Production on the new “Spider-Man,” directed by Marc Webb, is slated to begin in December.
