Nicole Kidman is headed back to Broadway.
In the production, produced by David Cromer (“Our Town”), Kidman will play Alexandra Del Lago, “an aging, drunken and sexually voracious movie star,” the Post reported.
No word yet who will play Chance Wayne, a role occupied by Paul Newman in the show’s 1959 Broadway run. Geraldine Page previously played the role of Alexandra.
The role comes 12 years after Kidman’s last run on the Great White Way, when she starred in David Hare’s “The Blue Room.”
As far as her big screen career, Kidman was last seen in 2009’s musical adaptation “Nine,” alongside the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Fergie and Kate Hudson.
Her upcoming film projects include the romance drama “The Danish Girl,” which once again pairs her with Cotillard, as well as the thriller “Trespass” opposite Nicolas Cage and the rom-com “Just Go With It” starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston.
