Casting Call: Paris Goes To The ‘Opera’

Paris to belt it out on the big screen. Ryan Reynolds ready to propose to Sandra Bullock. And Nikki Blonsky hangs out with “Harold.” It’s all in today’s Access Hollywood Casting Call?

Her “Simple” door might have closed, but it appears a big screen window is now open for Paris Hilton.

Paris has landed a starring role in the movie “Repo! The Genetic Opera,” a musical set in the year 2056 co-starring Paul Sorvino, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The film picks up in a time where “a plague nearly destroys the human race and survival is dependent upon being able to finance a pricey organ transplant,” according to Variety.

Sorvino will play the villain – an organ transplant magnate.

While she might seem like an odd choice for some, for director Darren Lynn Bousman (who also helmed the “Saw” trilogy), Paris was the perfect woman for the job.

“I have auditioned at least 30 actresses for this role – Paris came in and owned it. She is this role,” Bousman told Variety.

Hilton’s other film credits include “House of Wax,” “Raising Helen” and “Pledge This!”

On Monday, the E! cable network announced they were pulling the plug on Paris and pal Nicole Richie’s “Simple Life,”’ with the series finale slated to air August 5.

Blonsky will play Rhoda, Harold’s nerdy best friend. Sheedy (“The Breakfast Club”) will play his mother Maureen and Quinn will play a drunk who is a regular at Harold’s favorite strip club.

Ryan Reynolds is about to get on bended knee for Sandra Bullock in “The Proposal,” per The Hollywood Reporter.

Reynolds is in final negotiations to star opposite Bullock in the romantic comedy, which follows a demanding female boss (Bullock) who suddenly faces deportation to Canada.

In order to avoid the situation, she strikes a deal with her young male assistant (Reynolds) to agree to a sham engagement and marriage.

Bullock will next be seen on the big screen alongside Thomas Haden Church in “All About Steve,” where she’ll play an eccentric crossword puzzler who follows a CNN cameraman who she is convinced is her true love.
