Casting Call: Sandra Bullock’s New ‘Proposal’

Sandy B.‘s new “Proposal.” James Franco ready to spend the “Night” with Diane Lane and Richard Gere. Plus, Rosario goes “Poor,” but will Lindsay join her? It’s all in today’s Access Hollywood Casting Call?

Sandra Bullock has signed on to star in the new romantic comedy “The Proposal,” reports Variety.

“Proposal” follows a demanding boss who agrees to a fake engagement and marriage with her young male assistant to avoid deportation to Canada.

No word yet on who will play the lucky assistant.

Bullock is set to begin filming in “All About Steve” this summer, where she’ll play an eccentric crossword puzzler who follows a cameraman all over the country, hoping to convince him that they belong together.

“Spider-Man” villain James Franco and “Law & Order: SVU” crime fighter Christopher Meloni will join Diane Lane and Richard Gere in “Nights In Rodanthe,” a romantic drama based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

In the latest Sparks tear-jerking-page turner-turned-big-screen-blubbering-fest (see “The Notebook,” “A Walk to Remember”), Gere plays a doctor who stops at an inn in North Carolina while traveling to reconcile with his estranged son – played by Franco.

At the beach town, the doctor has a life-changing romance with an unhappily married woman (Lane). Meloni is playing the role of Lane’s husband.

Shooting is slated to begin this summer.

Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum have joined the cast of the grandma gang laugher “Poor Things,” reports Variety.

“Things,” starring Olympia Dukakis and Shirley MacLaine, was inspired by real news events and crime scandals surrounding recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for exploits that have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder.

However, one star whose role is up in the air is Lindsay Lohan, who also signed on for the film.

Despite Lohan’s recent troubles, the PR firm handling the movie told Access Hollywood shooting will still begin June 4 in Los Angeles as planned.

Lindsay is scheduled to begin filming on June 5, however, that could change if the actress is still in rehab.
