Casting Call: Zac Efron Going To War With Nicholas Sparks?

Move over Miley Cyrus – Zac Efron could be Nicholas Sparks’ new Hollywood muse.

Zac is in talks to star in Warner Bros.’ “The Lucky One,” based on the Sparks novel of the same name, according to Variety.

The film follows a young Marine who survives three tours of duty in Iraq and attributes his good fortune to a photograph he carried around of a woman he had never met.

Upon his return to his home state of North Carolina, he sets out to find her.

“The Lucky One” marks the latest novel-to-big-screen adaptation for Sparks, whose other works include “The Notebook,” “A Walk to Remember,” “Message in a Bottle,” “Nights in Rodanthe,” “Dear John” and most recently, the Miley Cyrus-starring “The Last Song.”

Zac may also have his eye on another new project, as well.

According to Deadline, the former “High School Musical” star is eyeing the high-powered action film “Die in a Gunfight,” in whichwhere he would play “a young New York kid who falls in love with the daughter of his father’s nemesis, setting in motion a Romeo and Juliet-like forbidden romance.”

Zac’s latest film, “Charlie St. Cloud,” opens wide on Friday.
