Catching Fire: Amanda Plummer Cast As Tribute Wiress In Hunger Games Sequel

Another tribute has been chosen for the arena!

Amanda Plummer – best known from her roles in “Pulp Fiction” and “The Fisher King” – will play Wiress in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” Lionsgate announced on Tuesday.

The character’s eccentricity earns her the nickname “Nuts” from fellow tributes, and though she doesn’t communicate traditionally, her observations and contributions prove invaluable in the Quarter Quell, where Katniss and Peeta are forced to fight once again for their lives.

Amanda joins newcomer Philip Seymour Hoffman as Plutarch Heavensbee, the new head game-maker in the movie.

As previously reported on Access Hollywood.com, Jena Malone is also in talks to play tribute Johanna Mason in the second installment of Suzanne Collins’ bestselling trilogy.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” begins shooting in the fall and is slated for theatrical release on November 22, 2013.
