Catherine Zeta-Jones Responds To Michael Douglas’ Emmy Win

Michael Douglas made headlines when he spoke openly about his family during – and before – his big win at the Emmys.

Not only did he mention his incarcerated son Cameron, but he also spoke of the support from his “wife” Catherine Zeta-Jones, despite the fact the two announced they were “taking some time apart” just a few weeks prior.

Separated or not, Catherine says she was overjoyed for Michael’s Emmy win.

“I’m thrilled for him. It was wonderful – so well-deserved,” in a new interview on Sunday night at the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation Gala in New York City, where she was honored with the Ambassador of Arts Award.

Dazzling in a gray hand-embroidered floral Dennis Basso gown, Catherine may not have reciprocated the nod by thanking Michael in her speech at the gala, but she did take the opportunity to also share some family secrets.

“My daughter dances. My son dances. He doesn’t do lessons, but he’s got the moves! I don’t know where he gets them from – Michael’s a good dancer too, so I can’t say it’s all me,” she joked with Access.

Though Michael and Cathereine announced their separation in August, at the Emmys a few weeks later, the “Behind The Candleabra” star told Access’ Billy Bush he remained hopeful for a reconciliation.

“Catherine is great. She is doing wonderful, talked to her today [and] just got a lovely note from her… I’m very hopeful that we’re going to work things out,” Michael told Billy. “As I said we’re just taking a break, a couple issues, sometimes you gotta do that.”
