Celebrities, including “Scandal’s” Kerry Washington, Kim Kardashian and “Parks and Recreation” actress Amy Poehler are joining the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
A host of celebrities are hoping to spread the word about the more than 200 schoolgirls who were kidnapped in Nigeria on April 14. The young women were kidnapped by Boko Haram, a militant Islamist group in the country, per the BBC. The goal of the campaign is to spark military intervention to help rescue the young women, per the Daily Mail.
New mom to her own daughter, Isabelle, Kerry shared First Lady Michelle Obama’s #BringBackOurGirls photo with her 1.5 million Twitter followers, and captioned it, “Amen.”
