HOUSEWIVES HAVE A ‘T.P.-WEAR’ PARTY : A bunch of famous “Housewives” gathered together for Eva Longoria’s bridal shower on Sunday, reports PEOPLE. Longoria’s co-stars Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Brenda Strong were reportedly among the guests at shower host Felicity Huffman’s house. According to the report, guests competed to make the most elegant wedding gown ? out of toilet paper. Longoria, serving as judge, reportedly chose Hatcher as winner for her tissue frock adorned with pink roses and a tiara.

SALMA’S CHOICE : Another recently-engaged beauty is sounding off about the pressure for women to have children. MSNBC’s JEANNETTE WALLS reports that Salma Hayek, who is expecting a baby herself, tells Marie Claire magazine in an upcoming issue that being a mother is not for everyone — nor should it be. “Motherhood is not for everyone ? it is for me, but there?s no reason women should feel rushed to have a child,? she reportedly says. “But society thinks if you don?t have children, you?ve failed as a woman, even if you are CEO of a company.”

ORLANDO’S ORDEAL : Orlando Bloom struggled through his own childhood, which was allegedly full of setbacks for the successful actor. In a new interview with DETAILS magazine, Bloom reportedly admits to having to overcome a variety of trials in his young life — including being diagnosed with dyslexia, discovering that his father was not his true biological dad, and being told by doctors that he may never walk again after breaking his back in a fall off a three-story balcony. ?For four days I was thinking this was it, that I would be living my life in a wheelchair,” he reportedly reveals. “And then I thought, no, and I knew I would walk. I just knew.?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-HOBBIT? : The “Lord of The Rings” film trilogy was a breakthrough for Bloom, as well as for director/producer Peter Jackson. As previously reported, Jackson will not participate in the planned prequel “The Hobbit.” However, “Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi has been rumored to potentially replace Jackson, and Raimi reportedly tells ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY that he’s open to the idea. ‘‘Peter Jackson might be the best filmmaker on the planet right now,” he reportedly says, “But…If Peter didn’t want to do it, and [New Line chairman] Bob Shaye wanted me to do it ? and they were both okay with me picking up the reins ? that would be great. I love the book.”

Access Extended: ‘Spider-Man 3’ Premiere

DANCING WITH THE SUPERHEROES : “Spider-Man 3” comes out next month, and then the long wait begins for the planned 4th installment (with or without Raimi and the present cast). For those fans dying for their “Spider-Man” fix between films, they can always go see the staged reading of the new Spider-Man musical in July, reports TV GUIDE’s RAVEN SNOOK. That’s right — a Spider-Man musical. According to the report, the New York City show is being directed by Tony-award winning Julie Taymor (“The Lion King”), with original songs by U2’s Bono and The Edge.

ONCE, TWICE, THREE TIMES A NUISANCE : Another action hero has come to New York, as actor-turned-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger paid a visit to The Big Apple last week. THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS’ BEN WIDDICOMBE claims that a persistent fan reportedly tried three times to meet him while he ate lunch with his aides at Frederick’s restaurant on Sunday. “An overzealous fan who spotted him going into the restaurant walked in and attempted to chat him up,” says a source. She was reportedly escorted out by bodyguards, and then came back, claiming she had to use the restroom. “But what really baffled the staff is when she came back 30 minutes later in a different outfit to try a third time,” claims the source. Schwarzenegger had reportedly left the restaurant by then.
