Celine Dion’s Brother, Daniel Dion, Dies 2 Days After Rene Angelil

More heartbreaking news for Celine Dion.
 
The superstar’s brother, Daniel Dion, has died – just two days after the loss of her beloved husband, Rene Angelil.
 
Daniel passed away at 5 AM on Saturday morning, surrounded by his family.

“In sadness and grief,
he leaves a large family headed by their mother, Thérèse Tanguay-Dion; his
daughters Valérie (Patrick Goyette) and Marie-Michelle; his grandchildren Matis
and Laurianne (Valérie); his brothers and sisters Denise (Yvon Dodier), Clément
(Denise Dumont), Claudette (Serge Gaudet) Liette (Guy Poirier) Michel (Danièle
Corbeil), Louise (Pierre Tremblay), Jacques (Geneviève Garceau), Ghislaine
(Jacques Talbot), Linda (Alain Sylvestre), Manon, Paul, Pauline (Marc Martel)
and Céline (René Angélil),” the family said in a statement to Access Hollywood on Saturday. “As well as many
nieces and nephews, cousins and friends, who are remembering a gentle and
reserved man of many talents.”

The 59-year-old, one of Celine’s 13 siblings, had been suffering from brain, tongue and throat cancer.

Rene, Celine’s husband of more than 20 years, died Thursday after a lengthy battle with throat cancer.

A funeral for Rene will be held on Friday at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, where he and Celine tied the knot in November 1994.
