Chad Michael Murray To Take Writing, Directing Reins On ‘One Tree Hill’

After five seasons in front of the lens as Lucas Scott on “One Tree Hill,” Chad Michael Murray is stepping behind the camera when the show returns to The CW for season six.

“I get an opportunity to direct this year, coming up in a couple weeks,” he told Access Hollywood at the Teen Choice awards on Sunday.

The actor, who picked up the surfboard for Choice TV Actor in a Drama at the awards show, will also be flexing his screenwriting muscles, scripting an episode with a vintage flair.

“I wrote an episode and we’re going to film that in late October…We’re doing like a 1930’s black and white film noir [style],” he said.

Noir isn’t the only style Chad’s into. The actor, who rocked a black tie on the blue carpet, told Access he’s been into European fashion since a trip across the pond.

“I’ve actually been enjoying the British look recently,” he said. “I really like the European [look]. I spent a little while in France last summer and I really took it in.”
