Charlie Sheen Says He’s Thankful For Intervention; Offers Advice For Lindsay Lohan

Charlie Sheen admitted in a new interview on Wednesday morning that he is glad that friends and colleagues recently staged an intervention for him. Moreover, he offered advice to fellow actor Lindsay Lohan.

“People need to understand how supremely grateful I am that someone stepped in here. I don’t want to say who, but you know, basically, Viacom showed up at my house and said ‘Dude, it’s getting really obvious and we’re really worried about you. We don’t give a rat’s tooey about the show, we care about your health,’” Sheen said in a new interview on DirectTV’s “The Dan Patrick Show” on Wednesday. “So, they came in and just man to man and said ‘We have to shut it down.’”

Sheen’s Wednesday phone-in is the second time the actor has called into the sports and pop culture talk show within the same week. During the call, the actor admitted that his recent behavior on “Two and a Half Men” before the recent intervention wasn’t great.

“The shape I was showing up in was epic, was beyond comprehension. [I’ve] never been drunk, never been high on the set once. But, I would show up not having slept much. Doing a network run through and asking the director, Jamie, to move my mark a little bit so I could be next to a piece of furniture or a table so I wouldn’t fall over,” he said. “That is an expert move by a seasoned professional. I’m sorry, an amateur stays on his mark and then falls over during the run through.”

Sheen also tackled TV executive producer/writer Chuck Lorre’s recent barb on a vanity card at the end of the latest episode of “Two and a Half Men,” for which Lorre wrote, “I don’t drink. I don’t smoke. I don’t do drugs. I don’t have crazy, reckless sex with strangers… If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I’m gonna be really pissed.”

Keeping his own sense of humor, despite his situation, Sheen called Lorre’s remarks “an olive branch.”

“This is a giant compliment. Chuck offered an olive branch, this is how I interpreted it. He’s going through all this stuff about what he does. This is about him personally. It doesn’t get to me, it’s not about me until the end,” Sheen told Patrick. “It’s a reflection of how he feels, in comparison to how my insane my life appears at times. So, I took it as a huge compliment. He basically wrote a brilliant little piece of literature and called me Superman…We are fine! ”

The actor also confirmed he will return to his top rated sitcom, again No. 1 in the ratings for Monday night, next year.

“Oh God, yeah! Because I have a two year deal. I’m a man of my word,” Sheen added.

Sheen also said he welcomes an interaction in the future on Patrick’s program with Lindsay Lohan.

“You get Lindsay on the show, I will call in,” he said. “I’ve got some advice for her. I’ve got some things I would recommend she consider because I don’t tell anybody what to do. Just try to think things through a little bit before you do them.”

In related news, Nicole Richie, who has been to rehab herself, had some strong words for Sheen.

“I don’t think he should make it somebody else’s responsibility to keep him sober,” Nicole Richie said on “The View,” recently.

According to Us Weekly, Nicole also said that she felt Sheen’s first appearance on Patrick’s show, during which he said he was ready to go back to work (but the production crew wasn’t), “was a little like, ‘You guys better give me something to do.’”
