Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management’ Gets A Home On Cable

Charlie Sheen’s new comedy, “Anger Management,” has found a network.

FX, which airs “Sons of Anarchy” and Elijah Wood’s “Wilfred,” among other shows, has picked up the program.

“Anger Management,” a sitcom based around the big screen 2003 film of the same name, will begin airing in summer 2012, FX confirmed on Thursday.

Production on the new series will be helmed by Executive Producer and showrunner Bruce Helford (“George Lopez,” “The Drew Carey Show”).

“We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie’s acting talents — and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play,” said John Landgraf, President and General Manager of FX Networks. “‘Two and a Half Men’ has been an outstanding component of FX’s schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that Anger Management will soon be as well.”

So far, the network has ordered 10 episodes of the comedy.

If the show takes off, FX will pick up another 90 episodes of the show under a syndication model. Syndication would begin in 2014 on other networks.
