“Dancing with the Stars” professional dancer – and two-time mirrorball champion – Cheryl Burke joins AccessHollywood.com as our behind-the-scenes celebrity blogger for Season 18 of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Here is Cheryl’s latest post as she and her mystery celebrity partner head into Week 4 of the competition…
This week is the switch-up and we obviously can’t tell you who our partner is, but it’s definitely a switch-up and I think some people are embracing it and some others are not.
It’s different because you don’t know how this person learns, you don’t know how this person performs. You’ve seen your partner perform before, but you haven’t seen how they work in the studio.
It has been challenging, but it’s also been fun because it’s like starting a whole new season again. It’s like you’re starting with a whole new partner, that part of it – it’s fun, it keeps things new and you have different challenges to overcome so I think it’s good television. We’re going to see. Some people will improve and some people won’t so the pressure is really on us pros to make the celebrity we have as good as possible, especially if you already have one that’s pretty good.
Drew and I – we have different schedules now so we barely see each other. Drew is back on “Price is Right,” so his schedule is all messed up and then he goes on tour this weekend, so I haven’t really seen much of him, but every time I do – we still text each other. It’s as if you’re cheating your dance partner. So it’s a little bit strange, but I think everyone is trying to embrace it and now that we know it’s only for a week it’s not that bad.
