Chicago Lawyer Reportedly Declines Lindsay Lohan Case

After reportedly considering taking on Lindsay Lohan as a new client, Chicago lawyer Stuart V. Goldberg appears to have declined to take on the actress’ case.

According to People, Goldberg, who met with Lohan, her mom Dina and younger sister Ali over the weekend for six hours, said the 24-year-old appears to be unaware of the legal road ahead and has “her head in the sand.”

“My impression of Lindsay is that she’s a fragile lost child – a sleeping beauty with her head in the sand. I found her not fully forewarned of the consequence of her actions,” Goldberg told People.

“I’m concerned that she’s not disciplined or tethered enough to the reality of adult consequences,” he told the mag. “She doesn’t seem to have the awareness of what’s going to befall her.”

Goldberg claimed that Lohan appeared to be “in a dangerous state” and that “she started sobbing quietly” when he allegedly asked if she might hurt herself.

The Chicago lawyer also reportedly suggested that Lohan leave LA, something the actress reportedly did not even entertain the idea of.

“She was like Teflon to that comment. It just slid right off her. She seemed to have some inner deep sadness that that was her fate,” he said, adding, “My real worry for her is not just the jail time, but my fear is that she’s overly susceptible to a probation system that’s set up for her to fail.”

On Saturday, Goldberg told TMZ in a video interview in LA that he was “here to help her.”

A request to confirm Goldberg’s interview with People from his Chicago office from Access Hollywood on Monday was not immediately returned.

According to Radar Online, Lindsay had yet to find a new attorney after Shawn Chapman Holley’s resignation last week. Access Hollywood confirmed that Chapman Holley had not been granted approval to resign as Lohan’s attorney by the court.

Who might represent Lohan then? According to TMZ, O.J. Simpson’s former lawyer, Robert Shapiro, is also a possible candidate for the job. When contacted by Access on Monday, Shapiro’s office was not available for a comment.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Chapman Holley filed a letter of resignation days after Judge Revel sentenced the actress to a 90-day jail stint
