Chord Overstreet Talks Cory Monteith: He Was Like Family, Everybody Loved Him

Chord Overstreet is remembering his friend and “Glee” co-star Cory Monteith.

Following Cory’s death on July 13, Chord dedicated a song to the late actor while performing a set at The Roxy on The Sunset Strip in Los Angeles on Saturday.

“He was the greatest dude you’d ever met,” Chord, who plays Sam Evans on “Glee,” told E! after the show. “Never met anyone who said anything bad about him.”

The actor said the entire “Glee” cast is grieving Cory’s loss.

“We’re all going thought it,” he said. “Everybody loved him… I spent more time with him than I have with anyone in my family in the last three or four years.”

Adding, “We’re a family.”

“Glee” co-stars Dianna Agron (Quinn), Kevin McHale (Artie) and Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) were in the audience at Chord’s Los Angeles show, and Chord said he hoped his performance made their late friend proud.

“If he’s out there watching,” he said. “I would want him to look down and give me a high five.”
