Chris Brown lashed out at Walmart on Twitter over the weekend – but it turns out his anger may have been misdirected.
On Saturday, the singer who is staging a comeback of sorts, following nearly a year of headlines and a guilty assault plea following his attack on Rihanna earlier this year, told his fans that he couldn’t find his new album, “Graffiti,” at the discount retailer.
“JUST WAS AT WALMART IN wallingford CT,844 north colony.. the didnt even have my album in the back… not on shelves, saw for myself.,” Chris wrote.
The singer explained he spoke to those in charge, who had no explanation for him.
“we talked to the managers and the didnt even know anything. wow!!! but they had alicia keys album ready for release for this tuesday comin,” he Tweeted.
“the manager told me that when there are new releases its mandatory to put em on the shelves.. BUT NO SIGN OF #GRAFFITI. BS,” Chris continued. “no disprespect to alicia at all.. just givin an example to whos album is loaded and ready to go next week”
“I’m tired of this s---,” Chris Tweeted the day before. “Major stores are blackballing my CD. Not stockin the shelves and lying to customers. What the f--- do I gotta do…”
But, according to Gerald Blodgett, a sales associate in the electronics department at the Wallingford Walmart, that wasn’t how things went down.
Blodgett told MTV News that Brown’s album wasn’t in there store for a very specific reason.
“We’re sold out of it,” he told the music channel and noted that he shook the singer’s hand when he visited the store. “We did have it in stock, but we sold out completely as soon as it hit the shelves.”
On Monday, however, it appears Chris may have had a total Twitter change of heart. His account appeared to have been deleted on Monday afternoon.
