Chris Colfer Talks Kurt & Blaine On Glee: They’re Like Grey’s Anatomy’s Meredith & Derek

“Glee” fans the world over have been saddened by Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson’s breakup on the FOX show.

But don’t dismay, Gleeks. Chris Colfer (who plays recent New Yorker Kurt on the series) says he firmly believes the currently-separated pair will reunite for good.

“I think eventually [they’ll get back together],” the actor told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live, when asked about the on-screen couple’s future.

The 22-year-old star, who wrote and stars in the upcoming flick “Struck by Lightning,” said his and Blaine’s [Darren Criss] relationship – with all of its ups and downs — reminds him of one of “Grey’s Anatomy’s” famous duos.

“They’re kinda like Meredith and Derek, or the Fran [Drescher] and Mr. Sheffield [of ‘The Nanny’],” he explained. “Like, you know they’re going to get together eventually. They’re just, you know, taking time.”

As for how long he plans to stay remain on “Glee,” Chris said he’ll see it through for as long as they’ll have him.

“It’s really not my decision,” he said. “I think I’m on board for being a part of it for as long as they want me, but we’ll see.”

“Struck by Lightning” – which is loosely based on Chris’ high school life and also stars Rebel Wilson and “Mad Men” beauty Christina Hendricks — opens in select theaters on Friday.
