Chris Evans: I’m Not Retiring From Acting!

Chris Evans won’t be hanging up his acting hat (or his Captain America hood) anytime soon!

Despite a report that the 32-year-old actor was leaving acting behind for directing, Chris told Access Hollywood he’s not done working on the big screen.

“I gave an interview and I said I directed last year and I really loved directing, I really did. So, I’m trying to focus a little bit more of my efforts [in] directing,” he told Access at the “Captain America: The Winter Solider” New York premiere.

The big screen star, who has numerous projects in the works – including the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron” – dismissed the report of his acting retirement.

“By no means am I retiring,” he told Access. “You make one slip up and all of the sudden you’re retiring and that’s not the case. But I certainly want to direct a little bit more.”

Chris has loved his globetrotting media blitz for his latest Marvel movie.

“Making good movies is difficult. If it was easy, there would be a lot more of them, so as a result, when you have something you’re proud of, you are encouraged to go around the world and share it with people,” he told Access. “Marvel managed to make another good piece of cinema, so going around the world and trying to promote people to check it out has been a really satisfying process.”

“Captain America: The Winter Solider” opens on April 4.
