Chris Pine Leads The Hollywood Reporter’s New Young A-List

Chris Pine is leading Hollywood’s new crop of young stars, all of whom – according to The Hollywood Reporter – are calling the shots as members of the new A-List.

In the mag’s second weekly edition, the “Unstoppable” star is profiled as one of Hollywood’s young actors who are best poised to become a blockbuster star.

“We need these kids desperately,” a studio producer told THR. “And there happens to be a crop of five or six of them that are actually filling the role.”

Chris – who is due to reprise his role as Captain Kirk in the “Star Trek” sequel – is enjoying the career perks that are coming with his new status.

“To have just a bit more power to say yes and no is very appealing and intoxicating,” he told THR.

The 30-year-old star is aiming to follow in the footsteps of two other A-Listers.

“I look at Clooney or Matt Damon. Hopefully, being in movies that are more commercially minded allows you to pick stuff that maybe won’t appeal to everybody but for whatever reason satisfies something in your soul that you need to say,” he explained.

Other members of THR’s new A-List – hitting newsstands today – include Taylor Lautner, Bradley Cooper, Chris Hemsworth, Ryan Reynolds, Jeremy Renner, Shia LaBeouf, Taylor Kitsch and Sam Worthington.
