Christina Aguilera Chimes In On Season 4 Of The Voice, Coaches Usher & Shakira

Christina Aguilera has been on a break from “The Voice” this season, and the singing superstar admitted to Access Hollywood’s Michelle Beadle her downtime finally afforded her the opportunity to watch the show.

“The other day, I did catch an episode of it and it was the first episode I ever even saw of it because… I give so much as a coach, I’m like, ‘I’m out.’ I’m in sweatpants, I’m with my kid and I just de-compartmentalize it,” Christina told Michelle at the Time 100 Gala in New York City, where she was honored as one of their chosen most influential people on Tuesday.

Being away from the judges’ spinning red chair allowed the singer to appreciate what makes the show so great.

“I was kind of like, wow, this is what’s it’s like from the audience perspective and I can see why — I mean, it feels fun and the energy is fun when you’re in it,” she said. “But when you’re watching from the outside, it’s also like, no pressure for me. No button pressure. So, it’s nice.”

Chiming in on new coaches Usher and Shakira, Christina gave her seal of approval.

“It’s interesting to see Usher in Ceelo’s chair, and to see Shakira in mine,” she said. “It’s part of ‘The Voice’ family and I feel their energy. They’re leaving it positive.”
