Christina Aguilera: I Wish Britney ‘All The Best’

Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears have shared a lot over the years – roles on the “Mickey Mouse Club,” pop stardom and famous lip-locks with Madonna at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards – but now, Christina says they’ve gone their separate ways.

“There have been so many stories about the two of us not getting on,” Christina told the Daily Mail. “We don’t keep closely in touch with one another, and it’s obvious how our lives have taken on two different directions.”

Still, Christina, who’s celebrating the release of her greatest hits album, “Keeps Getting’ Better,” on Tuesday, said she has warm feelings toward Brit.

“I don’t pass any judgment on what she does,” the singer said. “I always wish her all the best.”

She also reminisced fondly about their early days in the music industry, when Christina’s first big hit, 1999’s “Genie in a Bottle,” followed Britney’s 1998 smash “…Baby One More Time.”

“When we both started releasing records, it was a funny time for me,” she told the paper. “It must have seemed as if we were competing with each other, but, in reality, Britney is someone that I used to hold hands with. We were silly little girls together on the ‘Mickey Mouse Club.’”
