Christina Aguilera Sad To Lose Dez Duron On The Voice: ‘I’ll Always Support Him’

Team Christina lost its final member on “The Voice” Tuesday night (as Dez Duron was eliminated from the Top 8), but coach Christina Aguilera says her mentoring relationship with the handsome singing hopeful is far from over.

“From afar I am going to be in connection with him,” Christina told Access Hollywood’s Laura Saltman at “The Voice” elimination show in Los Angeles on Tuesday, when asked if she plans to continue to help Dez with his career. “I still talk with [Season 3 finalist] Chris Mann. I still love my Team Xtina – it’s team for life.”

Adding, “I’ll always support him and it’s really up to him at this point, you know, what he does with his career and what happens to him.”

The “Your Body” singer has a tremendous amount of faith in Dez’s talent and musical potential – so much so that she said his elimination wasn’t even “a bittersweet moment,” as she knows his star will continue to rise.

“As I always say, it’s not about us as coaches — all we’re there to do is support the talent and honestly, this is not the end of the road for him,” she said.

As for Dez’s immediate plans, the former Yale student & football player — who performed Justin Bieber’s “U Smile” on Monday’s show — admitted he’s interested in trying his hand at acting, but only after he’s secured a solid music career.

“Music is my heart, so I’m going to get on that train first and then maybe hop on over to acting later,” he said.

“The Voice” returns on Monday at 8/7c on NBC.
