Christina Aguilera’s ‘Tears And Sadness’ Through Divorce From Jordan Bratman

Just one day after news broke that Christina Aguilera was splitting from husband Jordan Bratman, the singer spoke to Redbook Magazine about her separation.

“It’s not easy and there have been a lot of tears and sadness. It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on,” the 29-year-old Grammy winner told the mag. “On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”

Christina remained mum when asked about rumors of infidelity, saying, “Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day.”

The singer explained her son is helping her get through the rough days.

“Thankfully, I have [my 2-year-old son] Max to keep me on a sane path. His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe,” she told the mag.

In more Christina news, exclusively announced on Thursday that the singer’s first performance since announcing her split would be at the 2010 American Music Awards, airing November 21 on ABC. She will perform a song from her new movie “Burlesque.”
