Christina Applegate Post-Cancer: ‘I Don’t Place As Much Importance’ On Award Shows

Golden Globe nominee Christina Applegate looked stunning walking the red carpet in a yellow gown Sunday night – a feat that has become a whole lot easier for the “Samantha Who?” star following her recent battle with breast cancer.

Christina told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush that prepping for the red carpet has become less stressful, now that she has overcome her health struggles.

“The importance that I place on things are different things now,” Christina told Access. “So, it was a very easy thing to try to get a dress, a very easy thing to get ready, because I don’t place as much importance on things like that.”

The actress said she has traded in fashion for something more important.

“It’s more about how I feel inside,” she continued.

Fortunately, Christina told Access her health has rebounded tremendously following her double mastectomy in August – with the worst hopefully behind her.

“I feel really good,” the actress said. “I have been through the worst of the surgeries. The Emmys were a little harder for me physically, and now, I feel great.”

She is doing so well, that the Globe nominee considered skipping the limo and heading to the ceremony by foot.

“I wanted to walk here from the hotel,” she said. “I’m spry, ready to go! Jogging everyday. I love it. My life is finally back to normal!”
