Christopher Guest says someone once showed up in a dog suit to interview him. And another time an interviewer asked him if he had any pets — this after he’d labored over a film, most likely “Best in Show.”
Guest spoofs Hollywood in his new movie “For Your Consideration.”
He says it’s actually a toned-down version of some of the crazy antics that go on in
Hollywood. However, Guest says “For Your Consideration” isn’t so inside Hollywood that mainstream moviegoers won’t get it.
Guest says the movie may look off the cuff, but it’s very structured.
He says he knew early on he had a gift for getting laughs, and says you can’t teach “funny.”
“For Your Consideration” is in limited release. It’s a comedy about Academy Awards fever among the cast of a small Hollywood drama.
