Chuck Wicks Eliminated From ‘Dancing With The Stars’

Country singer Chuck Wicks and his real life girlfriend, Julianne Hough, were eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars,” on Tuesday night.

Despite the fact that Melissa Rycroft and her partner, Tony Dovolani, received the lowest score on Monday evening — just 46 out of 60 — after the viewer votes were tallied, Chuck and Julianne were let go.

“This has been fantastic, I’ve had a great time,” Chuck said. “The last three weeks we’ve got standing ovations and that’s what really matters.

“It shows you how many fans Melissa has,” Chuck continued as Melissa, who the night before was judged on a rehearsal after being unable to dance during showtime due to an injury, wiped tears from her eyes. “I mean, for her to be five points down and still in this competition, it’s incredible. So hats off to you Melissa.”

Though he wasn’t able to take his professional partner all the way to the mirrorball trophy and the finals, Chuck said he and Julianne are winning romantically.

“To all the critics that thought we weren’t gonna last — we did it! We’re still on top of things,” he said.

Chuck said he plans to follow up his “Dancing” days with life on the road.

“I’m gonna go back out on tour doing what I love and that’s country music, so thank you guys, thanks to [the] fans,” he said.

As for Melissa, she revealed prior to Tuesday’s elimination that she is taking care of her injured ribs.

“We’ve started [a] new treatment and [we’re] kind of optimistic that it’ll be effective,” she said. “So, fingers crossed.”
