Claire Danes: Expect ‘Crazy Sauce’ On Homeland Season 3

“Homeland” kicks off Season 3 in a week and series stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave Access Hollywood some clues about what to expect after last season’s gripping finale.

Before taking home the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Claire spoke to Access’ Billy Bush on the red carpet.

“[It’s a] really strong season,” she said, explaining that her Carrie Mathison character starts off in a bad place.

“I’m a little on the crazy sauce in the beginning of the season,” she continued. “It’s kind of sad this season, it’s a little mournful.”

But should fans have been mourning the death of Damian Lewis’ Nicholas Brody long ago? Billy pressed Claire and Damian about it.

“Should you be dead?” he asked the Emmy-nominated actor.

“I think Brody has had a stay of execution… there were many times they could have killed Brody. I think it was because of the beautiful relationship that was working so well with this beautiful lady here, Claire, that I think [the writers] grew scared of it,” he explained.

Adding, “I’ll see how long I have left.”

Claire, on the other hand, does not want Brody to meet his maker anytime soon.

“I hope it will last forever,” she said of working with her co-star.

“Homeland” Season 3 begins on Sunday September 29 at 9 PM.
