Cody Simpson On Donny Osmond’s ‘Dancing’ Critique

Cody Simpson’s fans were probably not pleased to hear “Dancing with the Stars” guest judge Donny Osmond share one particular critique with the singer on Monday night’s show, but Cody didn’t mind.

Donny liked Cody’s performance, but he suggested that the music star didn’t look like he was having fun when hit the ballroom alongside pro Witney Carson for a “The Lion King” inspired samba.

“I totally respect him and definitely agree for the most part [with] what he said,” Cody told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson after the show.

Cody said Donny was right – he does take things seriously.

“I’ve always been very, very serious when it comes to like dancing or performing and it’s not [that often] where you’ll see a massive smile on my face when I’m on stage,” Cody said. “I definitely can take what he said constructively and productively. Obviously, my fans, if anything is said about it, you know, they’re gonna try and defend me. But I really respect him.”

In a surprise twist, Cody was eliminated on Monday’s “Dancing,” and afterward he said he was sad to go.

“[It was] sad, you know what I mean? I have mixed feelings about it. [I am] sad that we’re going and we don’t get the time to spend together and learn more, and obviously, on the positive side of things it was a very, very amazing experience,” Cody said.

“Dancing” continues next Monday night at 8/7c on ABC.
