Coldplay’s Chris Martin doesn’t like to talk about his marriage to Oscar winner Gwyneth Paltrow, but he’s OK joking about it.
On Tuesday, as he and Coldplay’s Jonny Buckland taped an appearance for Thursday’s episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Chris had a little fun about his relationship with the actress.
“You have a great relationship and two precious kids. And we love Gwyneth,” Ellen said, trying to coax something out of the British rocker. “She’s been here many times.”
“She’s been a great beard for me now, for 10 years,” Chris said, tongue-in-cheek.
“She just pretends that she’s your wife?” Ellen probed.
“Yeah, it’s hard to believe,” Chris laughed.
Chris recently revealed that his marriage to Gwyneth is his only serious relationship and he admitted his lack of big love before the actress led him to join a band.
“I think a lot of people like me and Jonny join bands because we were really not doing so well,” Chris added.
“With women?” Ellen asked.
“With anybody.”
