Comic-Con: Wesley Snipes Hints Possible ‘Blade’ Return

Does Wesley Snipes have another “Blade” in the works?

According to Deadline, one of Marvel’s first big-screen superheroes could be making a comeback.

The actor hit San Diego Comic-Con on Thursday to promote his upcoming Las Vegas-set drama “The Player,” and also discussed the odds of returning to his vampire-hunting past.

“The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things,” Snipes told the website, adding that his talks with the studio have not drawn any specific plans to revisit the series – at least not yet.

“I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided,” he clarified. “I guess it’s still up in the air.”

When asked if he sees himself rejoining the Marvel Universe in a different capacity, Snipes said that was “a possibility too.” However, the “Expendables 3” co-star is also open to exploring entirely different source material within the canon.

“I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and it’d be nice to be a part of the family again,” he said, explaining that he’s not limiting himself to one idea or even one franchise.

“If we don’t to a ‘Blade 4’ or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else,” he said. “We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful.”

While Snipes sounds up for getting back into the knife-throwing game, the actor will already have plenty on the books when “The Player” premieres this fall on NBC.
